The Mento Player 4 (Bamboo-fife player)

SKU: Original Painting 017

Mento music is recognized as the earliest form of music created by Jamaicans and dates back to the 1930s. Evolving from the island's slavery and colonial past, Mento music is supported largely by acoustic instruments such as the rhumba box, the shaker, the fife, and the banjo. These instruments mentioned are not exclusive but are featured in this collectible set of acrylic on canvas paintings by Jamaican artist Richard Hugh Blackford. Each piece is 9"x12"
