Jamaica is the third largest of the Caribbean islands, and the largest English-speaking Island in the Caribbean Sea. Situated 90 miles south of Cuba, 600 miles south of Florida, USA, and 100 miles south-west of Haiti. Jamaica is approximately 146 miles long, 51 miles wide, and has an area of 4,411 square miles with a resident population of approximately 3.1 million and a Diaspora more than 2.5 million, Jamaica is ranked among the top ten most culturally influential countries in the world.
Our Story
Yaawd Media Incorporated was established as a vehicle dedicated to not only present aspects of Jamaica’s culture but also highlight the very best of Jamaica. In so doing, Yaawd Media through its audio-visual platform will provide content that serves to educate, inform, and entertain its audience both at home and in the Diaspora while at the same time engaging non-Jamaican nationals with engaging content designed not only to lure them into the island but to also support the products and services provided by our sponsors and advertisers.

Yaawd Media’s current flagship program Sunday Scoops streamed program, provides its audience with exclusive Jamaican music-driven content, driven primarily by the stories of those who helped to create the music. It provides a platform from which the artistes, musicians and songwriters are not only celebrated but also able to tell their stories in their own words and the archived material made available on the site for viewing at the site visitor’s leisure.

Yaawd Media will be adding another three feature programs by year end which will highlight other areas of the island’s culture including its cuisine, the arts/dance, as well as Jamaican folklore.
